Sanctuary Candle Dedications
The Sanctuary Candle is the perpetually burning candle in our sanctuary.  A lit Sanctuary Candle signifies the presence of God in the tabernacle that contains the Eucharist.  The Church prescribes that at least one candle should continually burn before the tabernacle.  It is a mark of honor and to remind the faithful of the presense of Christ, and is a profession of their love.  You can dedicate the candle in honor of someone for a contribution of $10 for one week.  Your dedication will be announced in the weekly bulletin.  Forms are available at the church office.

100th Birthday of St. Mary's Committee
St. Mary's 100th birthday will be in just two years - June 2011.  The weekend of June 25-26, 2011, will be the celebration dates.  A celebration of this magnitude requires a lot of planning.  If you would like to participate as a committee member, please contact Father Ron or one of the Vestry members.

Altar Guild - Not A Solitary Pursuit and Not Just for Ladies!
If you have hesitated to become an Altar Guild member because you don't want to do it alone, consider volunteering with a friend, partner, or spouse -- or all 3 combined in one ;^)  Most current members would be glad to have a partner if you would like to share with one of them.  There are always openings for Altar Guild.
If you would like to learn more about about the duties of a Guild member, please contact Frances Cook at 224-3318 (email francescook@aol.com).  Being a member of the Altar Guild is a rewarding and interesting way to contribute to St. Mary's.

Do you like to make a Joyful Noise?
The choir can use your voice.  Please contact Bonnie Trahan at 540-371-2318 for more info.

Our Thrift Shop needs Volunteers
If you can help by working at the Thrift Shop on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, please call the church office.  This ministry helps the community and St. Mary's.

Recycling Collection and Fundraiser
Our first batch has been recycled and we're ready for more!!  St. Mary's is partnered with a company called eCycle Group to collect empty printer cartridgfes and cell phones.  For every cartridge or cell phone we collect, we will earn money.  In addition to earning money, we will be benefiting the environment.  There is a basket in the church office for any items you can contribute.  All cartridges must be undamaged and have never been refilled and must have the original manufacturer label.
